Building

Using your gifts to strengthen others and serve faithfully.

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 3:11 · KJV

Build on the foundation of Christ

In 1 Corinthians 3, Paul addresses division and misplaced loyalty to human leaders. Ministers are servants, God gives the increase, and Jesus Christ is the foundation. Building in the Kingdom therefore begins with faithfulness to Christ rather than personal recognition. Our work should strengthen people in truth and love, not make them dependent on our importance.

Every member contributes

Ephesians 4:11–16 describes ministry that equips the saints and helps the whole body grow. First Peter 4:10 calls believers to serve one another with the gifts they have received. Teaching, hospitality, prayer, practical help, and generous stewardship can all contribute. The question is not only what we can do, but what will faithfully meet a need and build others up.

Practice the teaching

Read Ephesians 4:11–16 and 1 Peter 4:10–11. Identify one gift or ability, one actual need, and one realistic way to serve. Speak with a ministry leader about preparation and expectations before taking responsibility. Ask: Will this act of service help others mature in Christ and express His love?
